Octowood Fencing System
Octowood is set to revolutionise the equestrian and agricultural fencing market by replacing half round post and rail fencing, with a fence system that is both stronger and faster to install.
- Posts are peeled and shaped to an octagonal profile to provide a flat surface for fixing
- The octagonal shape prevents posts rolling away and simplifies handling, transport and palletising
- Rails are half octagonal and feature pre-cut, half lap joints for an extremely strong, mechanical join
- Because the rails are lapped post centres do not need to be fixed, which allows flexibility to work around obstacles like underground services and tree roots
- All timber used throughout is superior quality Jakcured softwood guaranteed for 25 years
- Ideal for equestrian and agricultural properties, stock, paddock and country estate fencing
Variable post centres:
This flexible system allows you to have 2.5m centres for normal use and 2.0m centres for more challenging applications.
Innovative Octowood post and rail fencing system is safe, strong and fast to erect. The posts are peeled and then cut to an octagonal profile and the rails half octagonal. The flat surfaces mean posts and rails won’t roll away and they stack on pallets easily which makes handling and transportation easier too.
The half octagonal rails have a pre-cut half lap joint at their ends, which allows posts to be joined easily without always having to be at the point the post is erected. This means post centres can be flexible (allowing for almost zero waste of cut rails) and it is possible to work around or avoid obstacles like trees or underground services.
Octowood is already used extensively in Europe in the agricultural and equestrian markets, and looks set to revolutionise these markets here replacing the traditional half round systems, with the faster, stronger octagonal system.
A creosoted version of Octowood is also available for professional use, please ask for details. Download our Health and Safety guidance notes on handling creosote treated wood here.
